HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY RACE and HALLIE!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MUNCHKINS!

2002
Seven years ago today on October 19, 2002 the doctor brought two tiny bundles out of the delivery room. You little guys brought our family a happiness that day that has grown with every passing day since. You continually fill our lives with joy.

We were so excited to have TWINS and decided that two babies was TWICE AS NICE.

Once in a while though, we'd have to say "Uh, oh - maybe we've got DOUBLE TROUBLE."

But even when you cried we thought you were pretty special.
You were so sweet on your first Christmas.

2003

Gran had to learn how to do lots of "new" things during your first year.
I learned how to rock two babies to sleep at the same time
(but I had to wait for someone to help me lay you in your cribs).

I learned how sit "Indian style" and feed you both at the same time.

You kept my arms and lap pretty full and I loved every minute of it.

Your Mom and Dad took Gran with you on a trip to Florida that summer and I got to enjoy being with you at DISNEY WORLD.

In no time at all you guys were crawling and getting into everything!
My kitchen cabinets were your favorite place to meddle.

I had SO much fun sewing for you and making you matching outfits.
You wore this one to the Twins Festival in Twinsburg, OH.
We played with toys on the floor a LOT!
And you guys crawled under and over everything in the house!
It seemed like no time at all until we were celebrating your 1st Birthday!
It didn't take you long to discover how fast you could get around on "wheels."
2004
By Spring of the next year, you were busy little toddlers.
Race could climb on anything. Here's Hallie buckling him in after he climbed in the high chair.
You loved riding in your cozy coupes and chased each other all through the house.
You were big Elmo fans and Momma made you a Sesame Street cake for your
2nd Birthday.
You outgrew your sit-on toys and rode tricycles.
The month after your birthday you both got your first real haircuts.
Hallie sat in Hillary's lap and got "big girl" bangs.
Race sat in Hamp's lap and wasn't too sure a haircut was a "good" thing.
You were so excited about Christmas that year.

2005
You enjoyed posing for pictures at the park with Hillary and Hamp.
Grandaddy was even brave enough to let you drive his boat.
By summer you were having fun swimming in the lake.
Your 3rd Birthday!

You were sneaky (but cute) little boogers meddling with the Christmas trees.

2006
You were Grandaddy's best helpers when he built the new flower beds.

You had lots of fun hiding and finding Easter eggs.
And celebrating the 4th of July.
By that summer you'd moved up from Cozy Coupes to a battery powered Hummer.
Your 4th Birthday.
That was the Christmas Santa brought your Cars & Princess toy bins.
2007
Megan and Mira came for a visit in August and we had lots of fun together.

For your 5th Birthday Mom and Gran spent the day with you at the Buffalo Park.
Christmas at Gran and Grandaddy's - fun times!
Race enjoyed his train set Uncle John gave him.
And Hallie loved playing dress up with Mira and Megan.

2008
We had lots of fun together. You played April Fool's pranks.

And splashed in puddles in the rain.
And played in your sandbox on sunny days.
Then, in August, you became SCHOOL KIDS!
You began kindergarten at Rankin Elementary
with your wonderful teacher, Miss Dana Wood.

At Christmas, you got to be with ALL your cousins at the same time for the

first time in several years. What fun!

2009

In February, you posed for a FAMILY Portrait. In March, you got to fish. You can now fish without any help and sometimes your dad
cooks your catch in his fish fryer with hush puppies and french fries. YUM!
At Easter, you got matching clothes and went to church together.
In May you graduated from Kindergarten .
Hallie with Mrs. Daughtery.
Race with Mrs. Daughtery - the best kindergarten teacher in the whole world!
By summer you had learned to drive a seado all by yourself, Race.
Way to go!
In August you began first grade at a new school, Joyner Elementary.
This is your first year to be in separate classes.
Labor Day weekend you enjoyed a family vacation in Nashville.
You even got to touch the sting-rays at the Nashville aquarium.
We celebrated your birthday a day early at Gran's house.
And today - on your birthday - Mom and Dad brought cupcakes to school
so you could celebrate with your classes.

Hallie with Mrs. White.
Race with Miss Stevens.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACE and HALLIE!
I feel very blessed to be your Gran and to have been a part of the first seven years of your life. I pray that God will continue to bless you all the days of your lives and that you will grow to love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.

You did a great job of chronicling the twins lives. Enjoyed seeing the other family members mixed in as well. Well done!!
