Could this be the culprit?

Our electrical power was out for about an hour and a half last night. Here’s the local news report:

REPORT: Raccoon causes power outage in Tupelo area

Tombigbee Electric Power Association says 2,000-3,000 homes in the Tupelo area lost power Tuesday night.General manager Bill Long says a raccoon caused a short circuit, sending an area from Belden to Bissell into darkness.The outage was reported around 10:15 p.m. Long said before 11 p.m. that it would take approximately 30 more minutes to get electricity restored to customers.

Here’s the best part of the story:

For the hour and a half that power was out, my 6 year old grandson and his 16 year old brother were BORED …. BORED out of their skulls …. can we talk excruciating BOREDOM, here?

You may be wondering (like me) "what in the world is a 6 year old doing awake that late at night?" All I can say is – it’s summer and he and his brother are big video game buddies! Well. You can’t play video games when the power’s out. What are guys supposed to do??

After a little more than an hour of enduring the darkness, 6 year old Race was complaining non-stop with a little whining thrown in for good measure. His 16 year old brother, Hamp, suggested they pray and ask God to help the power company restore the power quickly.

Hamp told me this morning that in less than 20 minutes after they prayed the power came on. When it did, Race began celebrating by jumping up and down and pumping his fists in the air. "Yes! YES!" he cried. And ran down the hall to tell his sisters, "Good things happen when you pray!"

Yes, indeed they do, my sweet little grandson. I hope you know and believe that truth all your life!
