Who is this baby in a manger we see everywhere we look during the Christmas season? Who is this Babe of Bethlehem? Who is this Christ of Christmas?Who is He?
Let's tiptoe through some words the Holy Spirit breathed through the apostle Paul to a little church in Colosse and find a few answers.
Who is He?
HE IS THE REDEEMER - "in whom we have redemption" (Col.1:14)
Who is He?
HE IS THE REVEALER - "the image of the invisible God" (Col. 1:15)
Who is He?
HE IS THE CREATOR - "by Him all things were created" (Col. 1:16)
Who is He?
HE IS THE SUSTAINER - "in Him all things hold together" (Col. 1:17)
Who is He?
HE IS THE LEADER - "He is the head of the body, the church" (Col. 1:18)
Who is He?
HE IS THE FOUNTAIN - "in Him all the fullness ...dwells" (Col.1:19)
Who is He?
HE IS THE RECONCILER - "through Him to reconcile to himself all things" (Col.1:20)
Who is He?
He is all of these things - and infinitely MORE!
That's an enormous job description for any human - let alone a newborn baby. Yet this is the VERY ONE Mary wrapped in swaddling clothes and cradled in her arms that holy night.
O Come . . . let us adore Him!
