John Samuel

In the post, Day 7 - OUR REFUGE, I mentioned a young couple in our church whose precious baby boy was born with Spina Bifida and is currently undergoing some serious surgeries at Birmingham Children's Hospital. I wrote about what a humbling experience it is for many of us in our church to watch how faithfully his parents are trusting in the Lord for this child's life. The testimony of their faith is truly a witness to many! They know they are completely loved by their trustworthy Heavenly Father and they are finding their Refuge in Him and giving Him all praise and glory.

It has been a privilege for many in our church to pray for this little cherub even before he was born. Because many of you blog friends are not a part of our church, I wanted you to have the privilege of praying for him too and decided to take the liberty of sharing his sweet picture and the email that came from his mother this morning. PLEASE PRAY!

Hi everyone,

I finally got to a computer again to let you know how John Samuel is doing. Yesterday and today his weight finally crept up instead of down. We hope and pray that this trend will continue! If it does, his next surgery will be Wed., I think it's April 30.
John Samuel is getting a little stonger each day, and he's really perked up since Hannah has been here to play with him and make him laugh with her silliness! His breathing is so much better, but he has been having episodes where his heart races too fast. The doctors think it is related to the brain malformation.

Here are some of our prayer requests:
That John Samuel's brain will heal, and that it will regulate his heart and breathing correctly;
That God will strengthen his body and immune system, and that he will gain weight;
That God will give us, the doctors, and nurses wisdom;
For Hannah, to be comforted during this unsettling time, and that her heart and mind will be kept safe in Christ Jesus as she questions why God would allow this to happen to her baby brother.
Also, if you could pray for Tim's mother's family- the Martins- his grandmother has been lost to Alzheimer's for years, and it looks like she will finally be released back to the Lord within the next day or so.
